From 13 to 16 September 2025 | Berlin, Germany
A New Start for Arbitration within IR Global
A defining moment of the conference was the official launch of the IR Global Arbitration Committee. The inaugural meeting, chaired by Nicolò Manzini, brought together thirty arbitration practitioners from every continent. This newly established forum reflects IR Global’s recognition of arbitration’s central role in international commerce and dispute resolution.
In Mr. Manzini’s words, the kick-off session was a “huge success”, offering “a glimpse of the great potential this group brings.”
Contributions from the Founding Members
Several members played a decisive role in shaping the Committee’s foundations, among them:
- Roger Canals
- Howard Colman
- Wissam Mghazli
- Klaus Oblin
The meeting was enriched by contributions from more than two dozen arbitration specialists, whose diverse expertise and perspectives provided a strong basis for the Committee’s future work.
Looking Ahead
The launch of the Arbitration Committee marks an exciting new chapter within the IR Global network. Its objectives include:
- Facilitating knowledge exchange among arbitration professionals;
- Developing best practices for cross-border dispute resolution;
- Supporting joint publications, thought leadership, and referrals;
- Enhancing IR Global’s service offering in international arbitration.
While challenges lie ahead, the Berlin conference made clear that there is shared momentum and determination to turn this initiative into a lasting success. For OBLIN, both as headline sponsor of the Annual Conference and as an active contributor to the new Committee, this development reaffirms our role as a trusted partner in international arbitration and litigation.
